“When Friendship, Love and Truth abound
Among a Band of Brothers,
The cup of joy goes gaily round
Each shares the bliss of others.”

“Then let us be social, be generous, be kind,
And let each take his glass and be mellow,
Then we’ll join heart and hand, leave dissensions behind,
And we’ll each prove a hearty Odd Fellow.”

Become an Odd Fellow

Odd Fellows seek to create a better world through the principles of Friendship, Love, and Truth, and to follow the philosophy of “visit the sick, relieve the distressed, bury the dead, and educate the orphan.” No matter who we are or where our lives have taken us, we seek to elevate the character of mankind.

Joining the I.O.O.F. is done by joining a local lodge. Many lodges exist in Denver and many more exist across Colorado. We recommend visiting a few different lodges in your area to find out which one you like best, for each lodge has its own culture and membership-bodies. You can locate lodges using the I.O.O.F. lodge directory.

There are eligibility requirements for joining the I.O.O.F., which include that a person be at least 16 years of age, be loyal to their country, and believe in a Supreme Being. The I.O.O.F. forbids interference with anyone’s religion or politics, and discussions of a religious or political nature are prohibited during lodge meetings.

Before contacting us, please review the complete information about joining the I.O.O.F. by visiting the Sovereign Grand Lodge’s website.
